Preaching in the Ability to See Series on the Nkwagye Kwan radio program, Dr Kuuku Dadzie Ephraim stated that when a person dies, the body returns to the earth, the spirit or breath of life returns to God, and the soul moves to an eternal destination based on how the person lived on earth.
According to him, those who lived holy lives according to God’s requirements would enter God’s kingdom, while those who lived sinful lives would face punishment in the lake of fire. He emphasized that the destination of the soul is fixed after death.
He further stated that words, prayers, or ceremonies performed by the living after someone’s death cannot change the person’s spiritual destination. He said the life a person lived on earth determines the outcome.
Dr. Kuuku Dadzie cautioned against beliefs and teachings that suggest funeral prayers or statements such as “may his soul rest in peace” can alter the condition of the dead. According to him, such words have no effect on the soul after death.
The preacher also criticized religious leaders who, for financial reasons, deliver favorable messages about people known to have lived sinful lives. He argued that such actions do not reflect spiritual understanding.
He finally urged preachers to uphold truth and avoid pleasing families because of money. He said spiritually knowledgeable leaders should communicate the truth about life, death, and the final destination of the soul.
