Preaching in the Ability to See series on the Nkwagye Kwan radio program, Dr Kuuku Dadzie Ephraim said the Bible is the word of God, explaining that its books were written by servants who recorded what God instructed them to write, containing both historical events and prophecies.
He cited the Exodus account of Israel’s departure from Egypt, saying archaeological findings of chariot wheels and royal remains under the Red Sea substantiate Moses’ record that Pharaoh and his army pursued the Israelites and were drowned.
Dr Kuuku Dadzie Ephraim also pointed to the continued existence of biblical countries and locations, including Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Nazareth, Galilee, Jericho and Damascus, as evidence supporting the historical setting of the Bible.
Regarding Jesus Christ, he cited the writings of first-century Roman-Jewish historian Flavius Josephus, saying Josephus referred to Jesus as a wise man, Messiah and miracle worker who was crucified under Pontius Pilate, while also recording the imprisonment and death of John the Baptist.
He further highlighted biblical prophecies concerning Jesus’ birth, particularly Isaiah’s prophecy said to have been given 700 years earlier, as evidence that he believes could not have been accurately predicted through human reasoning alone.
Dr Kuuku Dadzie Ephraim concluded by pointing to locations associated with biblical miracles including the valley of Aijalon in Joshua 10:12-13, Mount Carmel and the River Jordan saying their continued existence supports his argument that the Bible contains undisputed historical facts.
