Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz has confirmed that almost his entire squad is available for Ghana’s Round of 16 clash against Colombia at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Ghana will take on the South American side on Saturday at Kansas City Stadium, with a place in the quarter-finals up for grabs.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference on Thursday, Queiroz disclosed that only one player will miss the crucial encounter due to injury.
“Regarding injuries, 25 players are ready to play against Colombia. The only player who did not recover in time is Kojo Oppong Peprah,” he said.
The only absentee is OGC Nice defender Kojo Oppong Peprah, who has failed to recover from a knock sustained during training.
The 22-year-old featured in Ghana’s group-stage matches against England and Croatia, impressing with his composure and defensive contributions.
Queiroz’s update comes as a significant boost for the Black Stars, who will head into the knockout tie with virtually a full-strength squad as they seek to overcome one of the tournament’s strongest teams.
Ghana progressed to the Round of 16 after finishing third in Group L with four points, recording a victory over Panama, a draw against England and a defeat to Croatia.
The Black Stars will be aiming to reach the World Cup quarter-finals for the first time since their historic run at the 2010 tournament in South Africa.
Kick-off for the Round of 16 encounter is scheduled for 01:30 GMT on Saturday at Kansas City Stadium.
