Arsenal could have a realistic chance of signing Victor Osimhen this summer if they submit an offer exceeding £60 million, according to reports from Football Insider.

The Premier League champions have long been interested in the Nigerian striker and could make a formal move for him in the coming weeks as manager Mikel Arteta looks to strengthen his squad before the transfer deadline.

Arsenal’s interest in Osimhen reportedly emerged during discussions with Galatasaray over a possible transfer involving Gabriel Martinelli. However, any deal for the Nigerian forward would be separate from negotiations over the Brazilian winger.

“As revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Transfer Insider podcast, Arsenal must make an offer of over £60m to stand a chance of landing Osimhen this summer,” the report said.

The 27-year-old signed a four-year contract with Galatasaray last summer and made a strong impact during his first season as a permanent player, contributing 28 goals and assists in 33 appearances.

A move to Arsenal would also likely see Osimhen become the club’s highest-paid player, with reports putting his current earnings at more than £300,000 per week at Galatasaray.

Arteta has indicated that Arsenal remain active in the transfer market as the club seeks to add more quality and depth to its squad.

“There is more that we want to do because every time we have an opportunity to improve the squad and bring more quality and depth to the squad, we need to do that,” Arteta said.

Osimhen, meanwhile, has not ruled out a move away from Turkey. Speaking after scoring twice in Galatasaray’s Super Lig opener, he played down the latest speculation while leaving his future open.

“There are always rumours in transfer seasons. I will take care of my business. I am focused on my job; then we will see and think further,” he said.

While reports continue to link him with Arsenal, Galatasaray have also been reported to be reluctant to part with the striker, meaning the transfer situation remains uncertain.
