Ghana goalkeeper Benjamin Asare has emerged as a transfer target for clubs across Europe, South America and Saudi Arabia following an impressive showing at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The 34-year-old’s representatives are now exploring options for a move abroad before the close of the transfer window, with interest already coming from several clubs.
German side Hertha BSC, Brazilian club Fortaleza and Sweden’s Vasteras are among the teams that have expressed initial interest in the goalkeeper. However, no formal offer has been submitted for his services so far.
Asare’s reputation has grown considerably following his World Cup performance. He travelled to the tournament as Ghana’s second-choice goalkeeper but eventually featured in three matches.
He kept clean sheets against England and Panama, with his display against England standing out as one of his strongest performances at the tournament.
His performances also earned him a place among the top 10 best-performing goalkeepers at the 2026 World Cup, further boosting his profile and attracting interest from abroad.
Clubs in Saudi Arabia have also made contact over a possible deal, but Asare and his representatives are understood to prefer a move to Europe.
Despite the growing interest, Asare remains under contract with Accra Hearts of Oak until 2027. He extended his stay with the club in 2025, with his current agreement also containing an option for an additional year.
