Preaching in the Ability to See series on the Nkwagye Kwan radio program, Dr Kuuku Dadzie Ephraim stated that the spirit of the dead returns to the Lord God who gave it and cannot interact with the living.
He warned that pouring libation and calling on the spirits of the dead amounts to inviting evil spirits, arguing that those who do so unknowingly work alongside demonic forces.
He revealed that beliefs that the dead can eat physical food or receive offerings from the living are false because a spirit is not physical and cannot consume physical food.
Dr Kuuku Dadzie Ephraim also repeated his concerns about bringing dead bodies into the house of God, describing it as a spiritual defilement that dishonours the holiness of God’s house because such people do not know God.
He added that those who worship God and know that He is holy should avoid bringing dead things into His house since they only bring a “death atmosphere” into the church.
Dr Kuuku Dadzie concluded that the church that respects God’s house should hold funeral activities elsewhere and then mark the occasion on Sunday with thanksgiving, dressed in white rather than black or red.
