Residents of Manso Nsiana in the Amansie West District of the Ashanti Region have given the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) three working days to act on the fatal shooting of 30-year-old Misark Addo at a local drinking spot.

The demand was made during a peaceful demonstration on Friday, October 16, 2026, as residents called for justice and a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.

The protesters urged the police leadership to ensure that the investigation was transparent and impartial, with any person found responsible held accountable under the law.

Speaking to the media during the demonstration, Hon. James Adomako appealed directly to the IGP to intervene and ensure that the case received the attention it deserved.

He said the community wanted justice for Addo and called for accountability from the security personnel allegedly involved in the shooting.

Other residents who took part in the demonstration also expressed concern over the incident, insisting that those implicated should be identified and made to answer for their actions if the allegations were established.

They maintained that the three-working-day deadline was intended to press the police command to take action and demonstrate its commitment to addressing their concerns.

Meanwhile, one person has reportedly been arrested in connection with the shooting. The circumstances surrounding the incident and the extent of the suspect’s alleged involvement have not been detailed in the information available.

Addo’s body has been deposited at St. Martin’s Catholic Hospital for an autopsy and further examination.

The residents are now awaiting action from the police as they seek answers over the death. Their demands centre on a credible investigation and legal accountability for anyone found culpable.
