In his final Christmas message to the nation, President Akufo-Addo has congratulated President-elect John Mahama and Members of Parliament-elect following the successful completion of Ghana’s 2024 general elections.

Akufo-Addo commended the peaceful, free, and fair election process, describing it as a key milestone in the country’s democratic journey. He expressed pride in Ghana’s democratic values and noted that the elections represent a significant achievement in the nation’s development.

The outgoing President, however, did not shy away from acknowledging the challenges faced during the election period. He strongly condemned the post-election violence that marred an otherwise exemplary election process and called for healing, peace, and unity.

In offering his best wishes to the incoming leadership, President Akufo-Addo prayed for wisdom, strength, and divine guidance for President-elect Mahama and the newly elected Members of Parliament. He expressed hope that they will lead with integrity and serve the nation with dedication.

As Ghana transitions to a new era of leadership, President Akufo-Addo encouraged all Ghanaians to continue supporting the new government and work together for the progress and prosperity of the country.
