The Third National Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alhaji Osman Masawudu, popularly known as Chairman Buga Buga, has dismissed claims that he took the wife of musician Fancy Gadam, insisting the allegations are false.
Responding to the viral reports in an interview shared on social media, Chairman Buga Buga said the woman, who is now his second wife, had already ended her relationship with Fancy Gadam before he met and married her.
He explained that the musician had publicly confirmed the end of their relationship, making claims that he “snatched” the woman inaccurate.
“Fancy Gadam and I do not have any problem. I met him once in a restaurant in Accra. People are accusing me of being a wife snatcher, but that is not true. I do not know whether it is a crime to propose to a woman who was previously in a relationship that has ended. They were no longer together. Even Fancy Gadam publicly stated that he was no longer with the lady,” he said.
Chairman Buga Buga also rejected suggestions that he had been involved with the woman while she was still in a relationship with the musician, describing such allegations as baseless.
According to him, he only met the woman about two months ago before deciding to marry her through the appropriate traditional and legal processes.
“As a man of my status, I would not just date a woman casually. After knowing her for about two months, I married her, and she is now my second wife,” he added.
The NPP national executive maintained that there is no misunderstanding between him and Fancy Gadam, urging the public to disregard the rumours circulating on social media.
