Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku has rewarded Black Stars goalkeeper Benjamin Asare with a brand-new vehicle valued at $38,000 after he was recognised as the best local player in the national team.
The announcement was made during the 32nd Ordinary Session of the GFA Congress at Prampram, where Kurt Okraku revealed that the vehicle was supplied by TAC Motors.
According to the GFA president, the reward is intended to recognise Asare’s performances while also encouraging other players in Ghana’s domestic league to work towards similar achievements.
“Benjamin Asare, I’m sure he’s listening, a brand-new vehicle, valued at $38,000. I have seen the vehicle, I was in the showroom, I tested it, and you love it,” he said.
Kurt Okraku said the gesture reflects the GFA’s commitment to rewarding players who distinguish themselves at the domestic level.
“This will encourage everybody, all players in our domestic league, to aspire to greater heights. When you do well, your efforts will be recognised by this family that is gathered here,” he added.
Asare’s reward comes as recognition for his performances with the Black Stars and his emergence as the outstanding locally based player in the national team.
Kurt Okraku also used the occasion to describe Ghana’s national teams as a continuing work in progress, saying the association remained focused on making them more competitive.
“Our national teams remain a work in progress. While we celebrate encouraging achievements, we also recognise the challenges that lie ahead of us. Our focus remains firmly on building competitiveness,” he said.
