Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, has urged the party’s newly elected constituency executives to set aside their differences and work towards victory in the 2028 general elections.

In a statement signed by his spokesperson, Dr Palgrave Boakye-Danquah, Wontumi congratulated the newly elected executives and commended the peaceful conduct of the constituency elections nationwide.

He also praised the Electoral Commission, the NPP’s Election Committees and the security services for their roles in ensuring a smooth electoral process.

According to the statement, the successful elections signal the start of a crucial period for the party as it seeks to regain power in 2028.

Quoting the NPP’s 2024 presidential candidate, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the statement noted that “the real work begins now.”

It added that the immediate responsibility of the new executives is to unite the party, strengthen its structures and mobilise supporters at the grassroots to secure victory in the next general election.

Wontumi further urged the executives to safeguard the party’s image, heal divisions that may have emerged during the internal elections and promote Dr Bawumia’s vision across the country.

He encouraged them to protect the NPP brand, bring all factions together and work collectively toward the party’s common goal.

Addressing executives in the Ashanti Region, Wontumi described the region as the NPP’s “engine room” and “world bank,” saying it would be central to the party’s electoral success in 2028.

He challenged the region to deliver more than 85 percent of the votes for the NPP in the next election, stressing that “the eyes of the nation are on us.”

The statement ended with a renewed appeal for unity, assuring the newly elected executives of his full support as they prepare for the 2028 campaign.
