Media personality Nana Aba Anamoah has strongly criticised adults featured in a viral video showing a 12-year-old girl, Adobea, drinking an alcoholic beverage.
The outspoken broadcaster questioned the judgement of the adult woman seen sitting beside the child, as well as the individual who recorded the incident and shared it on social media.
In a post on X on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, Nana Aba said the adults present should have intervened instead of allowing the child to consume alcohol or recording the moment.
She specifically questioned why the woman seated next to Adobea did not take the bottle of Smirnoff Ice away from the child.
Nana Aba described the conduct of the adults as an extreme failure of judgement.
“Some people have really lost the plot,” she wrote, criticising the adults for failing to protect the child from behaviour she considered inappropriate for her age.
The media personality also took issue with the decision to record and circulate the incident rather than stop it.
According to Nana Aba, the situation should never have progressed to the point where a camera was being used to document a child drinking alcohol.
Her comments followed the circulation of a video that appears to show 12-year-old Adobea seated at what looks like a local drinking spot, eating meat while holding a bottle of Smirnoff Ice.

The footage quickly attracted attention online, with social media users expressing concern over the child’s age and questioning why she was apparently allowed to consume alcohol in the presence of adults.
The person behind the camera has also faced criticism for filming the incident and posting it online instead of intervening.
Nana Aba’s reaction has added to the growing calls for adults around children to exercise greater responsibility and judgement, particularly in situations involving alcohol.
Her criticism centred not only on the child being allowed to drink, but also on what she described as the collective failure of the adults present to recognise that the situation required immediate intervention.
