Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz has praised his players for sticking to his tactical instructions following Ghana’s 1-1 draw against Wales in their final warm-up match ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The Portuguese said one of the biggest positives from the friendly was the discipline and commitment shown by the players in executing the game plan he prepared for the match.

According to Queiroz, the team’s willingness to listen and follow instructions gives him confidence that the Black Stars are moving in the right direction ahead of the tournament.

“What really pleased me a lot is the way the players listened to my instruction, my game plan; they were very respectful,” Queiroz said after the match.

While the result ended in a draw, the experienced coach believes the performance offered encouraging signs and showed that the squad is gradually adapting to his methods.

Queiroz stressed that the team is still a work in progress but is confident that continued hard work and commitment will lead to further improvements before Ghana’s World Cup campaign begins.

The Black Stars are set to kick off their Group L journey against Panama on June 17 before facing England on June 23 and Croatia on June 27.

With the World Cup just days away, Queiroz says the foundations are being built, and he is encouraged by the attitude and response of his players as Ghana prepares for football’s biggest stage.
