Suspended National Sports Authority (NSA) Director-General Yaw Ampofo Ankrah has expressed strong confidence that investigations into his alleged involvement in the 2026 World Cup visa scheme will clear him of any wrongdoing.
Ampofo Ankrah, speaking in an interview with Sporty FM, urged the public to avoid speculation and allow the relevant authorities to complete their investigations before concluding.
He warned that adding to the circulation of unverified information could complicate an already sensitive situation.
“There’s so much out there that if you’re not careful, if you contribute to that, you rather create more problems. So it’s better to let the brass settle,” he said.
The suspended NSA boss maintained that he expected the process to establish the facts and clear his name.
“Once the brass settles, we all know that this is their reality, and I’m 200% confident that I’ll be exonerated,” he stated.
His comments come as investigations continue into the alleged visa scheme linked to Ghana’s preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Ampofo Ankrah also acknowledged the need for his superiors to respect the legal and administrative processes before making any further decisions concerning his position.
While expressing confidence in the outcome, he called for patience as the relevant procedures run their course. His expectation of being cleared remains his stated position, pending the outcome of the investigations.
