Businessman Ibrahim Mahama has stepped in to support Emmanuel Asamoah, a Ghanaian who recently returned home from South Africa after reportedly surviving xenophobic attacks.

As part of the support package, Mahama has offered to establish a cement distribution and construction hardware depot for Asamoah to help him rebuild his life and livelihood in Ghana.

The gesture follows recent assurances by Ibrahim Mahama to Ghana’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs that he was ready to support Ghanaians affected by xenophobic violence in South Africa.

During a meeting at his office, which was attended by Ghana’s High Commissioner to South Africa, Mahama encouraged Ghanaians living abroad to consider returning home and contributing to the country’s development.

He stated that his company was willing to provide job opportunities for returnees depending on their skills and professional experience.

Mahama also advised Ghanaians facing difficulties abroad to return home to either establish businesses or learn vocational trades, promising assistance to help them restart their lives.

Beyond setting up the hardware and cement business, the businessman also presented Emmanuel Asamoah with GH¢200,000 to support him during a one-month break with his family before he relocates to Accra to begin operations.

Asamoah reportedly decided to enter the hardware business after leaving behind his nail and hairdressing venture in South Africa.

Mahama further praised Ghana’s High Commissioner to South Africa for his dedication to the welfare of Ghanaians living there.

He also encouraged Asamoah to remain focused and disciplined as he begins a new phase of his personal and business journey in Ghana.
