Preaching in the Ability to See series on the Nkwagye Kwan radio program, Dr Kuuku Dadzie Ephraim has said that when God wants to start something new to save people, He uses one person, citing Noah, Moses and the Lord Jesus Christ as examples.
He explained that Noah was used to build the vessel of salvation from the flood, while Moses was chosen to deliver Israel from Pharaoh, and the Lord Jesus was used to establish the New Testament Church despite being disdained as the son of a carpenter.
Dr Ephraim further argued that describing a church as a “one man church” reflects a lack of spiritual understanding, saying God consistently uses one person to lead major works as he referenced Orthodox churches as having one man as a leader and a government also being headed by a president.
He further mentioned that the church founded by the Lord Jesus was meant to consist of people who were holy like Him, arguing that a group claiming to be a church without holiness becomes a “social club” rather than a true church where the Holy Spirit is present.
He then cited Noah’s generation and Sodom and Gomorrah as examples of God judging societies despite their numbers, while preserving the few who were righteous and also warned that the same principle could apply to the present generation if people continue in what he described as demonic characteristics.
Dr Kuuku Dadzie concluded by urging people seeking a good church not to use the number of members as their yardstick, but to look for God’s nature, power, and teaching on holy living, saying numbers do not determine God’s presence.
