Real Madrid have officially completed the signing of highly-rated Ivorian winger Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig, securing the 19-year-old on a long-term contract until June 30, 2033.

The Spanish giants confirmed the transfer on Thursday, August 6, 2026, ending weeks of speculation over the future of one of Europe’s brightest young talents.

Diomande joins Los Blancos after a sensational breakthrough campaign with RB Leipzig, where he established himself as one of the Bundesliga’s standout performers. The teenager moved to the German club from Spanish side Leganés in 2025 and quickly made an immediate impact.

During his debut season in Germany, Diomande scored 13 goals and provided 10 assists in 36 appearances across all competitions. His outstanding performances earned him the Bundesliga Rookie of the Season award and helped Leipzig secure a third-place finish, guaranteeing UEFA Champions League qualification.

The winger’s rapid development also saw him break into the Côte d’Ivoire national team. Born in Abidjan, he represented the Elephants at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, making his tournament debut as the African nation reached the Round of 32.

According to multiple reports, Real Madrid agreed a deal worth an initial €125 million, with performance-related add-ons potentially taking the total package to €140 million.

If those figures are confirmed, the transfer will eclipse Jude Bellingham’s €103 million move from Borussia Dortmund in 2023, making Diomande the most expensive signing in Real Madrid’s history.

The move highlights Madrid’s continued investment in elite young talent as the club looks to strengthen its squad for the future while maintaining its dominance in Spanish and European football.

Diomande is expected to join his new teammates immediately ahead of the upcoming season, with fans eagerly anticipating the debut of one of world football’s most exciting emerging stars.
