Black Stars arrive in United States

The Black Stars have arrived in the United States as preparations intensify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Ghana’s senior national team departed Cardiff, Wales, on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, and landed in Washington, D.C., at approximately 9 p.m. local time.

Upon arrival, the team received a warm welcome from officials of the Ghana High Commission in Washington, as well as members of the Ghanaian community who gathered to greet the squad ahead of the global showpiece.

The Black Stars are entering the final phase of their preparations for the tournament and are expected to continue fine-tuning tactics and building match fitness in the coming days.

Ghana heads into the World Cup on the back of a promising performance against Wales, where Carlos Queiroz’s side secured a 1-1 draw in their final pre-tournament friendly.

The Portuguese coach will oversee training sessions beginning Thursday as the team sharpens its strategies ahead of the competition, which kicks off on June 11.

The Black Stars have been drawn in Group L alongside England, Croatia and Panama, with their opening match scheduled against Panama on June 17.
