Residents of Dome-Kwabenya have renewed their demands for urgent developmental attention, specifically calling for improved roads, schools, and job opportunities.
Constituents expressed frustration over the perceived lack of progress in these key areas, adopting the slogan “We Deserve Better”.
Residents highlighted the deplorable state of local road networks as a primary concern and also demanded for better-equipped and additional school facilities to serve the growing population.
Constituents again called for more job opportunities and youth development initiatives within the area while underscoring severe flooding and poor sanitation at the Dome Market.
In response, the Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya, Mrs. Faustina Elikplim Akurugu, delivered her maiden State of the Constituency Address (SOCA). She framed the address as a “constitutional responsibility and moral duty” to report back to her constituents.
The MP outlined initiatives already undertaken in education, healthcare, and sanitation and also announced future development goals aimed at improving the local economy and local production.
While some residents expressed satisfaction with the MP’s transparency and early efforts, many maintained that the pace of development is insufficient to meet the constituency’s pressing needs.
