The State Housing Company Limited (SHC) has started evicting people occupying state lands illegally nationwide.
This follows a grace period and a revenue mobilization campaign that offered discounts for regularization, which some occupants failed to take advantage of.
Managing Director John Bawa stated that the company will use legal means to remove those who didn’t comply, citing over GH₵200 million in lost revenue due to unauthorized occupation and fake property documents.
The SHC has renewed leases for key estates like Tesano, Achimota, and Labone, and will focus enforcement in these areas.
The evictions are backed by the State Housing Corporation (Ejectment) Act, 1970 (Act 322). Would you like more on the SHC’s plans or the affected areas?
