Newly elected New Patriotic Party (NPP) 1st Vice Chairman Kojo Fosu Boadu, popularly known as Kojo “Bamba”, says his new position is less about personal achievement and more about representing the aspirations of Ghana’s youth.
In a social media post on October 4, 2026, Kojo Bamba said he considers himself a voice for young people and intends to use his position to advocate for opportunities that can give the next generation a fair chance to succeed.
“I do not see myself as better than anyone else. I see myself as a voice for the youth, a representative of their hopes, dreams and aspirations,” he said.
“My ambition goes beyond personal success; it is about creating opportunities and ensuring that the next generation has a fair chance to rise.”
Kojo Bamba also linked his new role to the NPP’s political ambitions ahead of the 2028 general elections.
He argued that the future prospects of many young people could be affected by the outcome of the next election and called for a renewed commitment to what he described as progress.
“So many destinies risk remaining in the shadows if we fail to restore power in 2028. Our youth deserve opportunities, our people deserve hope, and our future deserves a renewed commitment to progress,” he stated.
His comments followed his victory in the NPP’s recent internal elections, where he emerged as the leading candidate for the 1st Vice Chairman position from a field of 13 contestants.
He secured 3,116 votes to finish ahead of immediate past National Organiser Henry Nana Boakye, who polled 3,061 votes.
Former NPP Communications Director and former Managing Director of the State Transport Company (STC), Nana Akomea, placed third with 2,987 votes.
The results were announced by the Electoral Commission after voting ended in the early hours of Sunday.
