The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has held a ballot draw to determine the positions of its presidential aspirants on the ballot paper, ahead of the party’s highly anticipated flagbearer election scheduled for January 31, 2026.
The ballot, conducted on Friday, October 10, 2025, at the NPP headquarters in Accra, was supervised by the party’s National Elections Committee in accordance with internal guidelines issued on July 29.
Former Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong secured the number one spot, placing him at the top of the ballot.

He was followed by Dr. Bryan Acheampong, former Minister for Agriculture, who drew the second position.
Former Vice President and considered a frontrunner, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, drew the third slot.
The fourth position went to Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, former Minister of Education, while Kwabena Agyepong, a former General Secretary of the party, secured the fifth and final position on the ballot.
The draw marks a key milestone in the NPP’s internal electoral process, as the party moves closer to selecting its presidential candidate for the 2026 general elections.
