The National Communications Authority (NCA) has announced that the first meeting of the Stakeholder Committee on DStv pricing will be held on Monday, September 8, 2025. This follows a formal response from MultiChoice Ghana to the Authority’s earlier notice regarding the review of its subscription pricing model and the potential suspension of its operational authorisation.

The move comes in response to a recent ultimatum issued by the Minister for Communications, Digital Technology, and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George. He warned that MultiChoice Ghana’s DStv service could be shut down by September 6 if the company failed to engage meaningfully in discussions over reducing subscription costs.

MultiChoice Ghana has publicly denied agreeing to any price reductions but has expressed its willingness to engage in dialogue. In a statement issued on September 5, 2025, the company clarified that no final decision had been made regarding pricing adjustments, though it remained open to discussions.

  2. Review Process Underway: The outcome of the committee’s work will be determined upon completion of the review process.
  3. Commitment to Due Process: MultiChoice Ghana has reaffirmed its commitment to following due process and complying with the laws of Ghana.

The NCA assured the public that further updates will be provided as the committee’s work progresses.
