Former Finance Minister and Karaga MP Mohammed Amin Adam has claimed that the government’s 24-hour economy secretariat has become inactive due to lack of funding.

In a social media post shared on May 20, 2026, Amin Adam alleged that funds allocated to the secretariat have not been released.

“The 24H Economy Secretariat is in a coma as the government has not been releasing funds from the GHS110 million allocated to it this year,” he stated.

According to him, the situation raises concerns about the government’s commitment to implementing the flagship policy.

He argued that although the initiative was launched with significant public attention, it has not produced meaningful results so far.

Amin Adam further claimed that the policy would struggle to succeed without proper funding and incentives for businesses.
