One dead, eight rescued after tanker, Toyota Voxy crash on Kasoa-Winneba Road

One person has died and eight others have been injured following a head-on collision between a water tanker and a Toyota Voxy at Tipper Junction on the Kasoa-Winneba Road.

The crash occurred on Saturday, August 15, 2026, leaving several occupants trapped inside the vehicles after the force of the collision caused extensive damage.

Firefighters from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) at the Buduburam Fire Station were dispatched to the scene to carry out rescue operations and provide emergency assistance.

The team managed to free eight injured victims from the wreckage and transported them to the Mother and Child Hospital in Kasoa for treatment.

One of the victims, however, later died from injuries sustained in the accident.

Both vehicles suffered significant damage in the crash. The Toyota Voxy sustained severe damage around its engine compartment, while parts of the water tanker were also damaged.

The identities of the deceased and injured victims have not yet been released.

The circumstances that led to the head-on collision remain unclear, with further details expected as investigations into the accident continue.
