A Ghanaian man has raised concerns about the presence of a homeless Nigerian national at a roadside location in Tema, calling on the police and immigration authorities to investigate the situation.
The incident occurred at the Tema Community 9 Motorway Roundabout interchange, where the foreign national was reportedly seen cooking by the roadside and keeping his belongings at the location.
In a video shared on X, the Ghanaian man confronted the individual and asked him to pack up his belongings and leave the area.
According to the man who recorded the encounter, the individual initially claimed to be Ghanaian but later allegedly admitted that he was a Nigerian national living in Ghana.
The Ghanaian expressed concern about the location where the man was cooking, arguing that the activity could pose a danger to him and other road users.
He subsequently called on the security agencies to take an interest in the situation, particularly the police and the Ghana Immigration Service.
The man also alleged that other Nigerian nationals were engaging in similar activities in the area, although those claims were not independently established.
“I asked him, and he claimed he was Ghanaian, but upon further interrogation, he admitted that he is a Nigerian staying here. Look at the environment where he is cooking at the roadside,” he said.
He went further to suggest that some individuals could be using homelessness or mental illness as a disguise for other activities.
“Some of these guys are spies and deliberately disguise themselves as mad people, but when you observe them carefully, they are not,” he alleged.
The Ghanaian urged the police and Immigration Service to pay closer attention to such situations, saying he believed some of the individuals involved could pose security concerns.
“Ghana Police and Immigration must take these issues seriously because the majority of these people are unscrupulous,” he said.
Following the confrontation, the foreign national was seen gathering his belongings and preparing to leave the location.
He was shown slowly packing several Ghana Must Go bags and other items he had with him.
The claims about espionage and the activities of other foreign nationals in the area remain allegations and were not independently verified in the report.
