President John Dramani Mahama has called on investors from around the world to consider Ghana as an investment destination, assuring them that the country remains open to partnerships regardless of their nations’ political or economic alignments.

Speaking at the Financial Times Africa Summit 2026, President Mahama said Ghana’s longstanding policy of non-alignment continued to shape its foreign relations, enabling the country to maintain friendly ties with major global powers while pursuing investments that support economic development.

He stressed that Ghana had no intention of taking sides in the competition among powerful countries, saying the priority was to attract investment that delivers benefits to both investors and the country.

“We are friends to all and enemies to none. And Ghana’s policy of non-alignment has served us well and so we welcome investors from all over the world,” he said.

The President urged businesses to look beyond geopolitical rivalries and focus instead on the opportunities available in Ghana, provided proposed investments offered fair returns to all parties.

He said the country was prepared to work with investors from different parts of the world, including the United States, the European Union, China and Russia.

“It is not about competition. It is about investment and a fair return to everybody, including ourselves. And so that is the condition. There is no competition. We are as friendly to America, to EU, to China, and to Russia,” President Mahama added.

His remarks underscored the government’s position that Ghana’s international partnerships should be guided by economic opportunity and mutual benefit rather than pressure to align with competing global powers.

By reaffirming the country’s non-aligned approach, Mahama sought to assure prospective investors that Ghana remains willing to engage with countries across the geopolitical divide as it works to attract capital and support economic growth.
