Preaching in the Ability to See series on the Nkwagye Kwan radio program, Dr Kuuku Dadzie Ephraim has said the Romans, then the world’s superpower, would never have recorded a fake story in their history books and that the Honorable Theophilus, who was answerable to the Emperor, could not accept shoddy work and so he relied on the highly educated Luke.
He added that anyone who disputes Luke’s research, which was accepted by Theophilus and preserved in Roman records, is either illiterate or an educated fool because the Bible’s stories were accepted as factual by Roman scholars, kings and emperors, who were intellectuals rather than commoners.
Dr Kuuku Dadzie pointed out that if people trust news stories written by human reporters and verified by editors, then they should not reject the Bible simply because humans wrote it. Its accounts were also verified by learned men before being accepted, and what sets them apart is that they give a spiritual report of what God did among people on earth.
Turning to prophecy, he reminded listeners that prophecies come from God, who cannot lie, so whatever He says will happen whether people believe them or not and that God wants people to respect His word and live right.
Dr Kuuku Dadzie cited Jeremiah’s warning that Babylon’s King Nebuchadnezzar would capture Israel and exile its people for 70 years, which happened exactly as foretold. He mentioned Prophet Daniel who also wrote about Israel’s stay in Babylon which is the present-day Iraq.
He therefore urged people to take biblical prophecy seriously, saying the account of Israel’s 70-year exile in Babylon was a factual historical event.
