Valencia have made sweeping changes to their leadership after a difficult start to the new La Liga season, sacking head coach Carlos Corberan and CEO Ron Gourlay.
The Spanish club confirmed the departures on Sunday as pressure mounted following a run that has left them at the bottom of the league table.
Valencia have failed to win any of their first five matches, suffering four defeats during that period.
In a statement, the club said the changes were intended to mark “the will of the club to start a new era in the sporting structure and area of football management.”
Corberan will be temporarily replaced by reserve-team coach Oscar Sanchez while the club begins the process of appointing a permanent successor.
The managerial change comes amid growing frustration among Valencia supporters, who have staged strong protests against the club’s ownership.
Singaporean businessman Peter Lim has faced sustained criticism from fans, with his son Kiat, who has served as club president since March 2025, also coming under pressure.
Valencia’s poor league campaign has now triggered changes both on the pitch and in the club’s football management structure, with the club hoping a new direction can reverse its fortunes.
