Former New Patriotic Party (NPP) Ashanti Regional Communications Officer Paul Yandoh has issued a strong warning to Ashanti Regional Minister Dr Frank Amoakohene following what he described as mocking remarks directed at him after his defeat in the party’s regional secretary election.

Speaking on Asempa FM on August 20, 2026, Yandoh said he was hurt by the minister’s conduct and suggested that he would respond if Amoakohene eventually found himself in difficulty.

Yandoh accused the minister of publicly mocking him after the election, saying the incident affected him deeply.

“He should pray he doesn’t fall into any issues or trouble because what I will do to him, he might leave the region. It was that bad that when I lost the elections, he took a camera and sat on social media to mock me. That was very bad, and I felt bad,” he said.

Yandoh’s comments followed the NPP Ashanti Regional Secretary election held at the Kumasi Jubilee Park on Saturday, August 15, 2026.

Francis Adomako emerged as the winner with 492 votes, defeating Michael Amoah Awuku, who polled 331 votes, and Yandoh, who secured 105 votes.

Yandoh, who served as the party’s outgoing Regional Director of Communications, said the treatment he received following the loss was particularly painful.

His remarks have added another layer to the tensions surrounding the leadership contest, with his warning directed specifically at the Ashanti Regional Minister over what he considers disrespectful conduct following the election.
