Several high-profile cases being handled by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) are set to resume in court following the Supreme Court’s ruling on the constitutional powers of the Office to prosecute criminal cases.
The OSP announced the development in a post on X on August 10, 2026, noting that proceedings in the affected cases had been put on hold since April 2026.
The suspension followed a High Court ruling that raised questions about the OSP’s authority to prosecute, bringing the trials to a temporary halt.
With the Supreme Court having now ruled on the constitutional mandate of the Office, the affected cases are returning to the judicial process.
