New Patriotic Party (NPP) communicator and spokesperson for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Dennis Miracles Aboagye, says the allegations levelled against him have had a devastating impact on his personal life, revealing that the controversy has strained his marriage.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen on July 21, 2026, Aboagye said he was deeply distressed by a statement issued by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) linking him to the alleged misappropriation of GH¢55 million during his time as Executive Secretary of the Inter-Ministerial Coordinating Committee on Decentralisation (IMCCoD).
According to him, the accusations have taken a heavy emotional toll and affected his mental well-being.
He also dismissed rumours claiming he has three wives, saying the false reports have caused serious problems in his marriage.
“I have been defamed and maligned. I am saddened by all this… Someone said I have three wives. My wife has even packed her bags and left home. They have done me a lot of disservice,” he said.
Aboagye maintained that he fully cooperated with EOCO throughout its investigations and was surprised by his arrest at Kotoka International Airport.
He insisted that he had always made himself available to investigators whenever requested and believes the allegations have unfairly damaged his reputation.
