Dennis Miracles Aboagye, Director of Communications for the Bawumia Campaign, has strongly challenged the President’s claims regarding Ghana’s economic state.
He stated that the economy remains vulnerable and highly dependent on imports and external influences urging the President to stop making “unsubstantiated claims” and “PR attempts” to make citizens happy. He suggested the government should instead focus on practical work.
Mr. Aboagye pointed to issues such as unreliable power supply (“running like Usain Bolt”), high electricity tariffs, rising unemployment, and the underperformance of the Komenda Sugar Factory as proof that the economy is not truly stable.
He emphasized that true resilience can only be achieved by building domestic productive capacity to withstand future shocks.
Mr. Aboagye’s comments were part of a broader critique of the administration’s messaging, which he described as “gaslighting” and “empty praise-singing”.
