The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has rescued seven Nigerian nationals who were allegedly trafficked into Ghana and forced to engage in cyber fraud activities.

The operation, conducted on Friday, November 14, 2025, formed part of EOCO’s ongoing anti-trafficking and anti-cybercrime initiative, Operation LIFELINE.

During the raid, EOCO officers arrested 10 people in total—three suspects and seven victims, all of whom are Nigerians. The victims, aged 17 to 30, were reportedly enticed into travelling to Ghana with promises of lawful employment but were instead subjected to exploitative working conditions and compelled to participate in online fraud schemes.

EOCO has urged the public to stay alert and report any suspicious activity through its hotlines and official law enforcement channels. The agency also advised landlords to conduct thorough background checks on foreign tenants before leasing their properties.

The office further cautioned that anyone involved in cybercrime or aiding such activities will be tracked down and prosecuted, reaffirming its commitment to combatting organised crime and safeguarding vulnerable individuals.
