Ghana’s senior men’s national football team, the Black Stars, will play their final 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match on Sunday, October 12, against Comoros at the Accra Sports Stadium. Kick-off is scheduled for 19:00 GMT.

Ahead of the much-anticipated fixture, Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, Director-General of the National Sports Authority (NSA), held a press briefing to outline safety measures and logistics in place for the game.

During the briefing, Mr. Ankrah revealed that the Ghana-Mali match, held in September at the same venue, generated a gross amount of GH₵1.46 million in gate proceeds.

“Eighty percent of the proceeds went to the Ministry of Sports and Recreation, while the NSA received 20 percent,” he explained.
“However, the NSA’s share was reduced after deductions for taxes, pitch maintenance, staff allowances, security, and medical services.”

The NSA boss also noted that revenue from Sunday’s game against Comoros is expected to exceed the GH₵1.46 million mark, as the stadium will operate at full capacity of 35,000 fans. For the Mali game, only 26,000 fans were allowed entry due to partial maintenance closures.

Ghana Nears World Cup Qualification

With a solid performance throughout the qualifiers, Ghana is on the brink of securing a place in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, adding excitement and anticipation ahead of the final match.
