Flagbearer aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Ing. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, is winning strong backing from former party executives across the Greater Accra Region for his pivotal role in championing constitutional reforms that restored their voting rights in internal elections.

Addressing delegates at Obom Domeabra, Weija Gbawe, Ngleshie Amanfrom, and Anyaa Sowutuom, Agyepong reminded them that it was his initiative that led to the expansion of the NPP’s electoral college to include all former executives and past government appointees.

He noted that he had gone even further by proposing the inclusion of all past polling station executives, though that particular amendment was not adopted.

Producing a letter he wrote to the NPP’s National Executive Committee dated April 17, 2025, Agyepong challenged those seeking to take credit for the reforms.

“I was the one who fought for this amendment. Anyone who says otherwise should show their letter,” he asserted.

His message resonated deeply with the audience, drawing warm endorsements from several members. Veronica Boakye, a former executive at Ngleshie Amanfrom, openly pledged her support.

“My vote and that of other former executives are for Kwabena Agyei Agyepong,” she declared.

With such endorsements, Agyepong’s campaign continues to gain momentum, positioning him as the candidate of inclusion and reform within the NPP.
