NPP flagbearer hopeful and former General Secretary of the party, Ing. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, says his driving mission is to rebuild and unite the New Patriotic Party (NPP) after its historic 2024 electoral defeat.
Speaking to delegates in Sege, Greater Accra Region, during his Unity Dialogue Tour, Ing. Agyepong revealed that the party’s loss compelled him to deeply reflect on its internal challenges. One of his major concerns, he noted, is how loyal members who have served the party in various capacities are often neglected once they leave office.

“When you have worked hard for the NPP and you are no longer in office, you are treated as if you are a forgotten face. That is not right for a party built on loyalty and sacrifice,” he said.
To address this, he disclosed that on April 17, 2025, he submitted a proposal to the party leadership, urging reforms to give former executives at all levels — polling station, electoral area, constituency, regional, national, as well as former ministers and MMDCEs — voting rights in internal elections.
Although the proposal was not adopted, Ing. Agyepong insisted such reforms would reduce the growing monetization of politics and restore enthusiasm in the party. “If more people were allowed to vote, can you imagine the excitement and sense of belonging? That is how we rebuild,” he explained.
He stressed that his call for reform and inclusivity is not mere rhetoric but backed by a vision and a plan. “We need to rebuild this party, and that is the vision I carry — to unite the NPP and make every member feel a true part of our family,” he told the delegates.
His message of unity and renewal struck a chord with the delegates in Sege, many of whom assured him of their support as his campaign continues to gather momentum nationwide.
