Former Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Ibrahim Sannie Daara, has urged caution over calls to dismiss Black Stars head coach Otto Addo, insisting any decision should be made after the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Despite leading Group I with 19 points — three ahead of second-placed Madagascar — Addo has faced intense criticism from both the public and key officials, including the Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, who recently expressed his dissatisfaction with the coach’s performance.
Addo, 50, is under fire particularly for Ghana’s failure to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, following a disappointing six-match winless streak.
Speaking to Asempa FM, Sannie Daara emphasized the importance of stability at this crucial stage:
“We have to be patient. It would be the wrong time to change the coach with just two games remaining. We should manage the situation and make decisions after the World Cup qualifiers.”
Ghana need just four points from their remaining two matches — against the Central African Republic and Comoros in October — to secure a spot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
