Workers of the Sprayers Department of Zoomlion Ghana Limited took to the streets on Monday to demand the payment of salary arrears they say have remained unpaid for 29 months.
The aggrieved workers said the prolonged delay has pushed many of them into severe financial hardship, with some claiming colleagues have suffered greatly while waiting for their wages.
In a video shared by UTV Ghana on August 3, 2026, the protesters marched with placards bearing messages such as, “Mr Zoomlion, Pay Us Our Salaries Now,” “No Pay, No Work,” and “Enough Is Enough.”
Leading the protest, Patrick Nartey appealed to the company’s management to urgently settle the outstanding salaries.
“We are here this morning demanding that the Zoomlion Head Office find every way and means to give us our money. We are demanding our money as soon as possible. Look at old men and women carrying heavy loads on their backs and spraying,” he told journalists.
Some of the workers also expressed frustration over the impact the unpaid salaries have had on their families, insisting that many are struggling to meet basic needs.
According to the protesters, the situation has become unbearable, with one worker lamenting that “people are suffering and dying” because of the prolonged delay in payment.
The workers warned that they could intensify their action if management fails to address their concerns.
They are calling on the leadership of Zoomlion Ghana Limited to immediately clear the 29 months of salary arrears and restore their livelihoods.
