The Government of Ghana has paid GH¢10.82 billion to bondholders under the Domestic Debt Exchange Programme (DDEP), with the Ministry of Finance confirming that the obligation was settled fully and on schedule.

The payment, valued at GH¢10,816,840,318.26, brings the total amount paid to DDEP bondholders since 2025 to GH¢41.36 billion.

According to the Ministry of Finance, the latest disbursement marks the third DDEP coupon payment to be made entirely in cash.

The Ministry said the timely settlement demonstrates the government’s commitment to meeting its debt obligations and maintaining fiscal discipline.

It added that the payment is expected to help strengthen investor confidence, lower concerns over Ghana’s sovereign default risk and improve the country’s financial credibility.

The government has also assured bondholders, investors and the wider public that future DDEP obligations will continue to be paid in full and on schedule.

The latest payment forms part of the government’s ongoing obligations under the domestic debt restructuring programme.
