Ghana’s biggest music stars gathered at the Grand Arena in Accra on Saturday, May 9, 2026, for the 27th edition of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA), a night filled with performances, celebration and major wins for some of the industry’s top acts.
The annual awards ceremony once again brought together artistes, producers, fans and entertainment stakeholders to honour outstanding achievements in Ghanaian music over the past year.
Black Sherif emerged as the biggest winner of the night, taking home the highly coveted Artiste of the Year award for the second time after previously winning it in 2023.
The “Iron Boy” crooner walked away with five awards in total, further strengthening his place among the country’s leading contemporary musicians.
Medikal also enjoyed a strong showing at the ceremony, securing four awards on the night, including Best Hiplife/Hip-Hop Artiste and Best Collaboration for his song “Shoulder.”
Singer-songwriter Kofi Kinaata added two awards to his collection, while Moliy earned international recognition with two wins, including International Collaboration of the Year for the remix of “Shake It to the Max.”
The event featured a mix of live performances, emotional acceptance speeches and tributes, making it one of the most talked-about nights on Ghana’s entertainment calendar.
