The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has called on party members who are yet to receive government appointments to remain calm and exercise patience.

He explained that constitutional limits make it impossible for President John Dramani Mahama to appoint all deserving party faithful at once.

Speaking at a meeting with supporters in Winneba in the Effutu Constituency on Thursday, February 12, Asiedu Nketia acknowledged the frustrations among some members but assured them that party leadership understands their concerns.

“I am aware that some of you are unhappy because you did not receive appointments after we returned to power. That is understandable, and it is one of the reasons for this ‘Thank You Tour’ — to help clarify issues,” he said.

He noted that the number of appointments the Constitution permits the President to make is limited, and therefore not every party member can be accommodated immediately.

“Given the constitutional restrictions on appointments, it is not possible to take care of everyone at the same time. So be patient. There is no need to be angry with the party,” he urged.

The NDC Chairman also advised members against expressing their frustrations publicly or resorting to actions that could create division within the party. Instead, he encouraged them to channel their concerns through established internal structures for redress.

According to him, constructive engagement within party systems remains the most effective way to address grievances.

As part of the NDC’s post-election engagements, Asiedu Nketia is currently touring the Central Region to interact with grassroots supporters and thank them for their contributions.
