Two people are in critical condition at the Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital following a violent clash between rival youth groups in Sankor, a suburb of Winneba in the Effutu Municipality of Ghana’s Central Region.

The confrontation, which involved cutlasses and firearms, left multiple individuals injured and sparked panic among residents. Eyewitnesses said the violence erupted after one group allegedly attacked their rivals with cutlasses, prompting the opposing faction to retaliate with gunfire.

Police quickly intervened to restore order. Winneba Divisional Police Commander, ACP Ibrahim Opoku, confirmed to Adom News that several suspects have been arrested and that the two critically injured individuals are receiving treatment under police guard.
