A Burkina Faso-registered cargo truck transporting cereals—including maize, beans, and tiger nuts—overturned on the Circle overhead in Accra, crushing a sprinter vehicle in the process.
Authorities confirmed that the mate of the sprinter vehicle, commonly known as a “trotro,” is receiving medical treatment at Ridge Hospital.
The accident caused severe traffic congestion along the Circle overhead, with commuters reporting long delays in both directions as emergency teams worked to clear the scene.
Personnel from the National Fire Service and the Ghana Police Service responded promptly to assist with removing the spilled goods and ensuring road safety.
