Flagbearer hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and former General Secretary, Ing. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, has urged party delegates to have faith in his leadership and vote massively for him in the upcoming January 31, 2026 primaries

He assured them that he will not let the party down.

Addressing delegates from Ejisu, Juaben, and Effiduase at Juaben on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, Ing. Kwabena Agyepong officially began the second phase of his Ashanti Regional tour, part of his broader mission to reconnect the NPP with its grassroots base under the banner “Leadership with Integrity — Going Back to Our Roots.”

Recounting his long journey of service and sacrifice to the NPP, Ing. Kwabena Agyepong reminded delegates that he had devoted his entire youth to the party’s cause.

“I sacrificed myself for this party at the age of 30,” he declared. “Even when I didn’t support a candidate, I was still accepted because I worked for the party’s progress.”

He recalled how supported the late Professor Adu Boahen in 1992.

” In 1998, I supported Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, traveling to over 230 constituencies, even though Akufo-Addo lost that primary. When John Agyekum Kufuor eventually won, he embraced me and sent me to represent him at the Electoral Commission’s Strong Room during the 2000 elections — a gesture that marked the beginning of a deep bond of trust.”

He recalled When former President Kufuor came to power, he appointed him as his Press Secretary, even though he had not been part of his campaign team — a sign, he said, of true unity and magnanimity in leadership.

“From President Kufuor, I learnt the true meaning of humility, tolerance, and unity,” he told the delegates. “That is the foundation of our party, but sadly, it has changed. What we see today is factionalism and apathy.”

Ing. Kwabena Agyepong expressed concern over growing divisions within the NPP, saying the “mafiarism” that has crept into the party must be wiped away for the NPP to regain its strength.

“I am a very principled and disciplined person. If you want someone who can sell the party, it is me. I want to restore the values that made the NPP great,” he stressed.

He reminded the delegates that the party’s greatest task is not just to elect a flagbearer but to win back the trust of Ghanaians who have become disillusioned.

“If you send me, Ghanaians will forgive the NPP. Because of me, they will believe in us again and vote for us,” he assured.

Ing. Agyepong also appealed directly to the delegates of Ejisu, Juaben, and Effiduase to remember his visit and commitment when they go to the polls.

“I have remembered you by coming here to campaign. On January 31, remember me with your votes,” he said, drawing loud cheers from the gathering.

With a reputation for integrity and selfless service, Ing. Kwabena Agyepong continues to position himself as the unifying and reformist candidate capable of restoring the NPP’s lost glory and reconnecting the party to its founding ideals of unity, humility, and service.
