New Patriotic Party (NPP) Flagbearer aspirant Ing. Kwabena Agyepong, has declared his readiness to unite the party and lead it to victory in the 2028 general elections.

Speaking passionately about the state of the NPP and Ghana’s governance, Ing. Agyepong emphasized the urgent need for renewed discipline, humility, and service-oriented leadership within both the party and the public sector.

“I am the glue the NPP needs to restore unity and win the 2028 elections,” he asserted confidently, adding that the country can only progress under leadership that values efficiency, integrity, and teamwork.

Touching on government structure, Ing. Agyepong reiterated his belief in running a lean and effective administration.

“Nineteen ministers and nineteen cabinet ministers must run the country. We can run Ghana efficiently with just fifty-four ministers,” he said, stressing that excessive bureaucracy only breeds waste.

He further pledged to cut down waste in the public sector and reinforce discipline if given the mandate to serve as President.

“I will cut down waste in the public sector if I become President and reinforce discipline,” he declared.

Reflecting on his years of service under former President Kufuor, Ing. Agyepong credited the former leader with shaping his political values.

“I learned the power of unity and humility in leadership from former President Kufuor,” he noted. “From him, I also learned the art of good communication and the importance of connecting with the people.”

Ing. Agyepong also criticized what he described as the “motorcade culture” among some government officials, urging leaders to stay in touch with the everyday realities of citizens.
“In Kufuor’s era, we didn’t have this motorcade culture — ministers must understand how the public feels,” he remarked.

The former NPP General Secretary reaffirmed his long-standing commitment to the party, recalling his contributions even during difficult times.

“I mobilized funds to support the NPP during my suspension, and when the party needed someone to speak on TV in 1992 to campaign, I was the one who stepped forward,” he recounted.

With these reflections, Ing. Kwabena Agyepong positions himself as a bridge-builder and reformer — a leader who believes that unity, discipline, and humility are the keys to restoring the NPP’s strength and securing victory in 2028.
