The family of Apostle Dr. Kwadwo Safo, popularly known as Kantanka—founder of Kantanka Automobile and the Kristo Asafo Church—has formally informed the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, of his passing.
The official announcement was made at the Manhyia Palace on Thursday, September 25, 2025, following Apostle Safo’s death on Thursday, September 11, 2025.
The delegation was led by Nana Osei Fosu Adutwum, Kwasohene, and included notable family members such as former Dome-Kwabenya MP Sarah Adwoa Safo and her siblings, Ohemaa Ama Safowaa and Nana Ama Safo Nyankonton.
In response, the Asantehene urged the family to ensure that all funeral rites are conducted with dignity and in line with tradition, to honour Apostle Safo’s legacy appropriately.
“Go by tradition to avoid any misunderstandings. Whatever you plan must be in accordance with tradition,” Otumfuo advised, pledging his full support to the family during the funeral preparations.
He also requested that the family submit detailed plans for the funeral to his office in line with customary protocols.
Dates for the one-week observance and final funeral rites are yet to be announced.
