Lands Minister Vows Government Will Win “Emergency” Fight Against Galamsey

Lands and Natural Resources Minister Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah has reiterated the government’s strong commitment to eradicating illegal mining (galamsey), assuring Ghanaians that the issue is being treated with the highest urgency.

Buah emphasized the continuous, round-the-clock efforts to combat galamsey and restore the country’s natural resources. “We are treating the matter as an emergency. We’re working around the clock, 24 hours a day,” he stated.

He highlighted President Mahama’s focus on the galamsey crisis and affirmed his confidence in the government’s strategy.

“As a Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, I can tell the people of Ghana that we are dealing with this matter with all the emergency measures, all the urgency, the seriousness, and that they can be assured that we will be relentless and we will win the fight,” Buah declared.
