WAFU B U-17 Championship: Black Starlets Arrive in Côte d’Ivoire Ahead of Tournament

Ghana’s U-17 national team, the Black Starlets, have arrived in Côte d’Ivoire ahead of the 2025 WAFU B U-17 Cup of Nations.

Led by head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum, the team touched down on Tuesday, September 16, in preparation for the tournament, which will take place in the city of Yamoussoukro.

This year’s competition will be held at the Charles Konan Banny Stadium, which will host the majority of the matches.

Ghana has been drawn into Group A alongside host nation Côte d’Ivoire, Niger, and Togo.

The tournament is set to begin on September 20, 2025, and will run through to October 3, 2025.

The Black Starlets will open their campaign against Togo on September 20. They will then face Côte d’Ivoire on September 23 before wrapping up their group stage matches against Niger on September 26.

Importantly, the tournament also serves as a qualifying competition for the next U-17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
