U.S. Vice President JD Vance is set to visit Kenya next month following his attendance at a summit in South Africa, a source familiar with the matter told Reuters on Monday.
Details of the discussions Vance may hold in the East African nation, a close U.S. ally, have not been disclosed. Kenya has expressed its aim to finalize a trade deal with the United States by the end of 2025.
The U.S. designated Kenya as a major non-NATO ally in 2024, though Nairobi has faced scrutiny from Washington over its growing engagement with China.
According to the source, Vance’s visit is scheduled from 24 to 27 November, with further details yet to be released.
